Each of our hand thrown and carved pottery mugs measure approx 3.5"-4" and comfortably hold 16 oz. These lovely mugs are hand thrown on the pottery wheel from a durable stoneware clay in Westen North Carolina. The mugs are hand carved and trimmed, then a handle pulled and thumb rest placed to ensure it fits your hand perfectly. This mug has been hand carved in our Woven pattern and glazed in our simple yet elegant Shale glaze which has amazing depth and shows the carvings well.
As with all handmade pottery expect slight variation in color and size.
All of our stoneware pottery is fully functional for daily use, food safe, as well as dishwasher and microwave safe.
Our goal as craftspeople is to make functional pottery mugs that people can have a personal relationship with. When you're drinking from a handmade mug that feels good in your hand, you will get an understanding of the relationship that you would not be getting from one churned out of a factory.
