This stunning gunmetal black Raku Canister or Lidded Jar stands 7 x 5.5"and was hand thrown on the pottery wheel, then carved. Once dried it was buffed to be very smooth and soft.
Raku pottery is an amazing process where we remove the pots while still burning hot in the kiln, and have them set fire to anything they touch. The smoke produced from this is what gives them the rich blackness. Raku is not water tight but is food safe.
Hand thrown by J.R. Page, hand carved by Kristen Page in Burnsville North Carolina.
